An unlucky fiancée is being sought by police in Angus after a lost engagement ring was handed in to the police.

The diamond engagement ring, which is set with a single solitaire diamond, was found in Forfar. Tayside Police said on Wednesday they are hopeful of returning the band to its rightful owner. The poor girl must be beside herself!

The ring was handed in to police in the town after being found in Castle Street at around 4pm on Friday, February 18 and a force spokesman said that there is an inscription on the inside of the gold band. For security reasons, we better not publish what though!
